Lemmy is god, we all know this and recite it jokingly yet semi-seriously to eachother at shows and on message boards; however in 2004 Motorhead dropped INFERNO on the world and the joking aspect of that quote turned to dead seriousness as Motorhead was once again a viable force in the metal community. No longer are they worshipped in past tense, Lemmy is a metal god of the past present and future and his beast known as Motorhead flaunts it all on this new 30th anniversary DVD. Technically realeased in the US in January of 2006, it was released in the rest of the world on July 25, 2005...so for the purposes of this list we'll say that it came out in the middle of those dates. Regardless, the main feature is beautifully shot and recorded and when you add in the second DVD with a tour documentary and full commentary from the band, you get the best metal DVD to be released to this date. Again: THIS IS THE BEST METAL DVD IN RELEASE! GET IT!

Best Thrashers of 2005:
I am not known as ThrashKreator and KOD (KreatorOfDestruction) just because I like how the nicknames sound, I love the music of the gods, or as it is more popularly known: THRASH METAL. So as a new feature, here is the best thrash albums of 2005...

5. Malicious Death - War and Power

Kreator is my favorite band overall. I love every album they have put out, even the "crappy" 90's output, but I would be a fool to say that they have ever put out anything as good as their first 5 since. This is why I really enjoyed Avenger of Blood's debut, Pleasure to Kill's brutality with Coma of Souls' catchiness combine to make a very memorable album for anyone who actually listens and doesn't immediately write it off as a "rip off" as is unfortunately popular in the metal world of bitterness and elitism.

2005 was a hell of a year for metal, both the underground and the mainstream kicked out some killer albums. Things kind of came full circle for me as a metalhead as many of the bands i used to gte into metal released their second and third albums since I made the plunge...my list reflects this as it is very chaotic to my eyes. In the end, Deceased put out an album that was simply flawless. King Fowley's vocals are better than veer an dfit the music perfectly. The guitar work is easily the star as the riffs pound and stick in your head for weeks after hearing them, and the lead work/solos have an old school tinge that is almost Maiden'esque at times and they add another dimension to the songs as opposed to just filling time. As a bonus, the greatest thrash break of the last 15 years can be found in final track, "Fright". King Fowley also gets the "Ultra-Metalhead" trophy for this, year as his other band, October 31 also put out a killer album that made it in the top 10.

Disapointments:
-Metalcore/Hardcore: are you fucking kidding me? How the hell did this worhtless form of music gain even more of a following this year? I warned about it last year, and this year all of those bad omens came true. Its invading radio stations, metal sections in record stores, and now these little bastards are invading the metal show even more than in the past because of this popularity. How do we fix this? I have no clue except for one idea: GENOCIDE!!!

-Judas Priest Live: They are still well worth the money, and Halford is still the metal god, but that title is in serious jeopardy. He doesn't move for all of Electric Eye and then is hunched over and uncharismatic for most of the rest of the set. A set which is filled with the worst songs off of Angel of Retribution, and the slowest of the back catalogue.

-Suidakra - Command To Charge: Listen to Signs of the Fammen...listen to Command To Charge...exactly!
